Mutual funds' total assets under management rose to INR7.63 trillion (about $
162.16 billion ) in October from INR7.43 trillion in September, according to data
issued Wednesday by the Association of Mutual Funds in India .
The Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensitive Index slid 7.2% in October, limiting its gains to about 65% in the first 10 months of 2009.
The 30-stock index had plunged more than 53% in 2008.
