Vinci SA (DG.FR) said Wednesday that net profit for 2017 rose 9.7% and revenue rose 5.7%, driven by a strong increase in passenger numbers at Vinci airports.

The construction-and-infrastructure company said net profit was 2.75 billion euros ($3.4 billion) compared with EUR2.5 billion the previous year. Revenue rose to EUR40.25 billion, said the company.

Vinci airports posted rapid growth in passenger numbers at all airports, said the company. Vinci said revenue for its airports rose to over EUR1.4 billion, up 14% on a like-for-like basis.

The company said that there was a return to growth for both revenue and order intake in France, where revenue was up 4.1% on a like-for-like basis to EUR23.7 billion.
