Shares of oil and gas companies rose slightly in volatile trade Friday as oil futures recouped some of their recent losses, gyrating alongside traders' risk appetites. Reports of building inventories in U.S. storage hubs have reignited fears that U.S. shale oil producers are ramping up operations again. The number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S. were up by one this week to 800, according to the tally from Baker Hughes, a GE company.
